Summary

This training will build on the strengths we already have as advocates. We will identify ways we can apply our skills in the public policy realm. To those ends, we will review how a bill becomes a law, discuss the importance of our voices in the public policy arena, and practice talking with legislators and staff in service of our missions and goals.

Presenter

Donna Greco

Donna Greco is the Policy Director at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. She has had the honor of working in the movement to end sexual harassment, abuse, and assault for over 20 years. She has served as a counselor, educator, and public policy advocate in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. In her current role, Donna has the privilege of working in partnership with policy makers, advocates, and the Commonwealth’s network of rape crisis centers to mobilize PCAR’s mission in the General Assembly. Through those partnerships, she works to end all forms of sexual violence and advocate for the rights and needs of sexual assault victims. Donna earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut, where she studied public policy and planning.
