Heather Evans, LCSW
Heather Evans is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private counseling practice in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. She has over 17 years experience providing individual, marriage, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient, outpatient, nonprofit and residential settings. She has extensive training and experience with women's issues, particularly sexual trauma. Her training includes sex trafficking and aftercare of its victims. Heather is Co-founder and Acting Board Chair of VAST (Valley Against Sex Trafficking) Coalition in the Lehigh Valley, PA. Heather has served as Clinical Advisor to the Truth Home, a therapeutic home for women with a history of sexual exploitation. In 2013, Heather received the Allied Professional Award from Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley for outstanding commitment to victims' services. Heather has also traveled nationally and internationally with the goal of partnering with and training trauma healing caregivers.

Summary

This webinar will provide an overview of the key components of complex trauma and how they are manifested and observed in survivor of commercial sexual exploitation. With an understanding of complex trauma, attendees will explore the holistic impacts of trafficking on a survivor.

This live webinar will be recorded, and will be the first of a three-part series which will offer insight into the impacts of trafficking on survivors and provide recommendations and considerations for offering effective services and interventions. The entire series will be made available through PCAR's e-learning campus.
