Presenters

Karen Galbraith LSW, is the Training Projects Coordinator at the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. A licensed social worker, Karen has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of sexual violence, volunteering and working at both the local and state level. Karen has provided direct services to survivors and their families, and has facilitated trainings to professionals, students, and community members throughout the state.

Damary Rodriguez is the Language Access Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape. Damary has worked as an advocate at a county domestic and sexual violence program. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from Penn State University.

Summary

This is a free training for PCAR funded rape crisis center advocates. This train-the-trainer training will prepare attendees to serve as their center's point person for the Enhancing Language Access for Survivors grant project. Participants will learn about language access and how to use the over-the-phone interpretation service provided by the grant.

Parking is available on-site. Mileage reimbursement is available for this training. Due to funding restrictions, we are unable to provide food or drinks for this training. Please feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages.
